A Date Night on a School Night

Troy & I went to the Ampere tonight to see Ingrid Michaelson in Concert.  An amazing experience because we actually saw that she was going to be in town (it is really hard to follow everything that is going on in Munich) and were able to secure a babysitter for a night that Troy isn’t traveling!!  Plus the performance hall is tiny, there were maybe 500 people there, so no matter where you were standing, there was a fairly decent view of the stage. (we were on the balcony)

She has done a lot of writing for the Grey’s Anatomy soundtracks, and a duet with Jason Mranz, but seeing her with just one other person on stage, instead of an entire entourage,  was so much fun. 

This video is a selection of songs & interaction from the concert, sorry for the quality.  We just brought our little camera tonight & it is funny under low / spot light conditions…

Oktoberfest 2009 - The Video

Well, it just wouldn't be modern travel adventures without Video... The noise in the tents is just amazing! Mostly American songs the first night, and a good mix the second (John Denver and the Time Warp in between Nina & 99 Luft Balloons). Not too incriminating I hope!

We had a great time in the hall the other night, with me holding Alexandra & chasing Sophia all over the place. Alexandra adores Sophia & it is a highlight of the day when Sophia comes home from school & they see eachother.

Sophia came home from school on Monday with a new song from her Music class. I was laughing so hard, that she had to share it with Troy & we had to put it on video.

Street Dancing

On the way back from the beer garden in the English gardens on Friday night we found street musicians...
Sophia, Brehan & Caro found the groove (just about the only people in the park that did based on the people in the background), but it was one of the first evenings of the summer where we had a beautiful day with an evening free from thunderstorms. It was nice to be able to take advantage of it!

Rhythmic Gymnastics in our living room

We've been addicted to the Olympics this past week. It has been extremely convenient given that Eurosport is showing all of the events live, and with the time change it means we have a ton of stuff to watch at 3 in the morning (did I mention jet lag is terrible when you are nursing?).
Sophia was fascinated by almost everything, and on the last day we were able to catch some of the rhythmic gymnastics competition. She was enthralled, and then left the room for a few min. When she returned she had one of her hair ribbons (thanks Meri!) and was ready to perform...

Sophia has been enjoying exploring the books that are now in the baby's room. Yesterday I found her very comfortable on the couch, making up her own stories to the books that she used to know by heart. She asks almost every day if the baby is going to come, but I'm not sure if that is because she wants to have a new sister, or if she is just looking forward to Nana & Papa coming back!
