We brought our kites with us on this trip, having been frustrated with our forgetfulness before, and boy did the girls have fun with their attempts at flying…
However, rather than a consistant blowing, the wind’s gusts took the energy out of our girls, and the wind from their kites, and so it was off to the trampolines…
and finally Sophia & Troy played pentanque (bacci ball in Italy)
The balls are about 10 lbs each, so it takes a bit of muscle to maneuver it just right…
But at least she does it with style…

Kites in a Wind Storm
Bedoin – the entry to Mt Ventoux
One of the challenges we found with traveling to markets without my parents, was trying to push the stroller, take photos, keep track of what the girls were touching, and purchase dinner. Today we decided to try out the backpack for Alexandra. Great market winding up through the streets, but the beginning of a wind storm for the area, so a little crazy (market umbrellas blowing all over the place) and most stalls started packing up early.
No photos of the market, but after lunch we walked up into the old part of town, and along the hill side… Alexandra loved her ride, and the rest of us loved being able to take stairs!!
Alexandra was pretty quiet on the way back down, and then we realized why…
At least it was comfortable for her!

Markets
One of the best things about traveling in Provence is the local market. The Sunday market at l’Isle sur la Sorgue isn’t necessarily the “Local” market, but it is an amazing one… It was a lovely day, not too hot in the morning, and Troy & I took turns wandering the streets, Troy actually lost us at one point, and the girls & I hung out in a cafe for an hour reading books & watching the people walk by, Troy took photos, while Alexandra ate bread. Tous les enfants aiment le pain…
(don’t you just love these tomatoes!!)
I could just go back there for days, the town is really interesting too!

Escape to the Sun
Again, spring in Munich has been non-existent. The endless winter has evolved into endless rain, and we just couldn’t take it anymore. Troy will be hitting the ground running in July with his new job, so we decided to escape from the rain to the sun, and go back to our favorite place in Provence, the Moulin de la Roque.
We arrived, checked in, made sure we had some wine, and then jumped in the pool. The girls love being here, even with all the bugs (seriously too cold in Munich for any bugs yet), and all of us are much happier, even with only 2 hours of vitamin D!

Sunday at the Ballpark
Who would have known that Regensburg has a great baseball stadium? Turns out we knew one of the players…
On the first warm & sunny day of the year, we spent the afternoon hanging out at the ballpark, watching Brehan play 3rd base on his 33rd birthday…
and having fun with our girls…
I couldn’t find the mariners’ shirts for the girls, and myself, so we wore our Roots “USA” shirts from the Olympics, and our Mariners’ hats. Troy passed off the hat, and everyone knew that we were the loud Americans!
(Alexandra is still drooling!!)
Sophia stole everyone’s baseball caps,
Alexandra was able to swing with the big toy…
and we had a couple more family photos taken, and silliness with the birthday boy…
What better way to start spring in Munich than with a game that my brother is playing. In all the years we have been in Europe, we have only seen his home field, and never were able to enjoy his play. There is almost nothing as good as drinking a cold beer in a stadium, watching Brehan, and I never had to yell at the Umps once!…

Little miss Alexandra
This is how I found her this morning: So after showing us her monkey skills in Italy by being able to climb out of her pack & play and unzip her sleep sack to be able to walk onto the terrace, she can now strip naked in the 5 min between when she wakes up & when I can get her out of bed (Sophia’s new morning bus schedule is really becoming painful).
Seriously, PJs off & diaper in a wad on her bed. Oh, how I wish we could just concentrate on potty training, but with all of the chaos over the next few months I don’t think that will be a priority for us…
