Alexandra gets the giggles

We had a great time in the hall the other night, with me holding Alexandra & chasing Sophia all over the place. Alexandra adores Sophia & it is a highlight of the day when Sophia comes home from school & they see eachother.

A tooty tah

Sophia came home from school on Monday with a new song from her Music class. I was laughing so hard, that she had to share it with Troy & we had to put it on video.
Enjoy...
(My favorite part is about 1 min in, when she asks "What are these called?")

Catch Up

So we have been traveling so much, and getting over jet lag, organizing ourselves for school, interviewing babysitters, trying to get involved with the school, dodging raindrops, trying to sleep, not sleeping, etc that the blog hasn't been correctly updated with photos of our life in the last couple weeks, as well as the last few weeks in Seattle.

I'm going back & adding posts with the appropriate dates, so if you are just looking at the last one you might have missed something!

There is something about September that inspires me to start again. It must be after 16 years of school, September is really the start of a new near & not January. It is really appropriate this year, as we try to establish ourselves a little bit more in Munich & enjoy life as a family of 4!

Street Dancing

On the way back from the beer garden in the English gardens on Friday night we found street musicians...
Sophia, Brehan & Caro found the groove (just about the only people in the park that did based on the people in the background), but it was one of the first evenings of the summer where we had a beautiful day with an evening free from thunderstorms. It was nice to be able to take advantage of it!

Rhythmic Gymnastics in our living room

We've been addicted to the Olympics this past week. It has been extremely convenient given that Eurosport is showing all of the events live, and with the time change it means we have a ton of stuff to watch at 3 in the morning (did I mention jet lag is terrible when you are nursing?).
Sophia was fascinated by almost everything, and on the last day we were able to catch some of the rhythmic gymnastics competition. She was enthralled, and then left the room for a few min. When she returned she had one of her hair ribbons (thanks Meri!) and was ready to perform...

Back to school

Waiting for the bus with her new shoe box we decorated the night before... She was very excited about having somewhere to put her "indoor shoes" at school. (they change shoes every time they enter & leave the school building)
Her too big backpack!

Sophia & 2 of her friends checking out a cricket in the school grounds on Sports day. Although the school doesn't have regular uniforms, on sports days (every other day) they ask that the kids wear their sports uniform so they are ready to play. There is also a pair of sweats & a fleece sweatshirt with the school logo. Too cute!

More of les tres petites

The families at the lake...

With the mommies...

The kids with their kids. (I still get confused when we talk about Mom & Dad that we aren't referring to my parents, but to me!)
The grandparents.
Chaos reigns!
The princesses.
