A Grand Day Out

Moya, Sophia, Alexandra and I (yes...a family of four. Still hard to believe) spent Sunday exactly where we should - out in this wonderful Sun that has captivated Munich. There are so many open parking spots in front of our apartment as many locals have jumped out of town for the long weekend, but we were quite content sticking around as Alexandra figures out her rhythm and timing in the family. We went to our favorite brunch spot, then a long walk, and ended the day at the park watching the kids play. I felt a bit like the pied piper as all the kids wanted to be close to the new baby. And Sophia couldn't wait to tell everyone that it was her little sister.

Springtime in Munich

It has been a wonderful time to have a new baby! The weather here has changed drastically in the past 2 weeks, and we have been ejoying a stretch of blue skies, sunshine, and temperatures close to 70 almost every day. Troy had the week off this past week, and we took advantage of it with long walks, and a few naps along the way. He & Sophia had a great time biking to school every day, and had time for an ice cream for a Friday afternoon treat.

Today we tried out the new buggy board for the back of the stroller & I can say it was a complete success! Sophia loved going for a ride, and being able to look at Alexandra the entire trip, and we loved being able to move at a faster pace than her feet normally move when the idea isn't entirely hers.

For Alexandra this week has been a bit challenging. She has a breakout of baby acne, not painful for her, but it definately gives people a start when they see her face for the first time. At the same time she has really started openeing her eyes, and interacting with us. Her eyes are still a very deep blue, with lots of blonde...

At home with Alexandra

Well, it has been an interesting transition the last couple of days. Nana & Papa left Friday morning (we are still tearing up as we think about it), and we have had the weekend on our own trying to get used to the fact that we are a family of 4 now! It is really weird to look in the backseat & see both the car seats...

We have had some successes (3 hour sleep windows and great nursing) & some really trying times (last night provided a 3 hour crying spree by Alexandra & Troy had both girls crying for about an hour today while I ran to the grocery store).

Every day is something new. Today we had baby acne.
