Zs at the tower

A trip to Paris is never complete without trips to the Eiffel Tower. We love the view from Trocadero, and always make sure to stop at the park on the way down the hill on the way to the carousel at the bottom.

A perfect way to end a great week!

Paris Parks

We were staying right near our old apartment in Passy, so we were able to re-visit a lot of the places we used to haunt, and Sophia was thrilled to be back at her parks! She is the perfect age for the parks around us, and Alexandra is the same age that Sophia was when we moved to Paris, not quite walking, and a little too young to do anything...

She had a good time anyway, and figured out the slide very quickly!

America in Paris

A morning at the Jardin d'Acclimatation was a little surprising given the latest theme - Americans in Paris. We walked into the park surrounded by signs from our Highway system, including a sneaky one from Seattle!
New York Yellow Cabs, hot dogs, a school bus, cup cakes, laffy taffy, puff & stuff, baseball, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, songs from Grease (that I was singing along with & we were dancing to - it freaked the professionals out a little bit), photos of San Francisco, and skateboard lessons.

Sophia rode the mechanical horse by herself for the first time - video to come - and she was so excited! So proud of herself & it was so much fun...

Alexandra managed to crawl out on the jumpoline & had a few bounces of her own before we had to drag her off ~ she was rather unhappy about that!!

Paris with friends

We spent the day with friends playing & enjoying the sunshine in the garden. Sophia & Alexandra had a blast with all of the big kid toys, and shared a bit with the little Alexandra & Sebastian.
It made me realize just how much we need a garden when we get back to Seattle & figure things out. NOT that we aredoing that soon, but something to keep in mind.

Versailles on Easter Monday

We spent the day with friends in the gardens at Versailles. Although the day started out a bit cloudy, we had a wonderful morning - lunch at the cafe next to the canal, lots of running on the paths, lots of do not walk on the grass signs.

Phineas & Alexandra sharing a private joke...

Sophia teaching Constance to play "chase the camera", her favorite game on a Sunday afternoon

Dads & Kids - so hard to get everyone to look at the same time!

Moms & Babies - Alexandra at 11 months, Phineas at 9.

Trying to keep Alexandra from eating the rocks was a day long challenge. It will (I shudder as I say this) be a bit easier when she is actually interested in walking, instead of scooting along in the dirt. But when she really knows how to walk I'm going to be in big trouble!

Easter Sunday on the Champs de Mars

After a fabulous brunch with our friends (thank you Annie & Jon!) we spent the rest of the sunny day at the Champs de Mars. Sophia introduced Alexandra to her first Carousel ride, which turned into 3 carousel rides.

Paris at Easter

At the Cathedral for Easter Sunday services & the (massively chaotic) easter egg hunt!

Alexandra's new traveling Easter basket... She is so fast crawling (scooting) that she really isn't all that interested in walking. We thought this might encourage her, and it does, but she also really likes climbing into it.

Sophia collecting eggs at our apartment.

The girls were given Bunny ears in their baskets. They LOVED them, and Sophia wore them all over Paris.

Easter in Paris is everything you think it can be...
